The Importance of Certification in Edge Computing Online Seminar: The Future of the Cloud-Hybrid Cloud Era was organized by SIB ISTTS and Red Hat to provide students with knowledge about what hybrid cloud is, edge computing, and what is important is to prepare yourself with training and certification in welcoming developments that lead to this new technology.
The seminar which was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, presented material on edge computing and hybrid cloud by Mr. Stevanus Soehono, Platform Solution Architect for Red Hat Indonesia, with material on edge computing. Namely the return of computing at the closest point of the customer, so that the provision of important information can be shared not centralized (centralized) in just one place on the server, because if there is a server that falls, then this information can not be retrieved. In addition, edge computing itself has become a very busy trend in Indonesia in the last 2 years, with demand reaching more than 20%. In 2022, many new jobs will be opened in the banking, telecommunications, marketplace and many other sectors.
In addition, many companies have begun to move their infrastructure from private cloud to hybrid cloud because it uses the synergy between private cloud and public cloud to be a support for more distributed and redundant computing. So there will be no downtime for services that use infrastructure like this. In addition, the importance of training and certification in welcoming this trend is also brought so that students are ready to meet significant changes in the industry, and ISTTS has become a Red Hat partner in delivering this material in the past year. In the form of training for students namely RH I, RH II, and RH III System Administrator and also in class for DO180 material - Kubernetes + Openshift.
Participants who attended this event were very enthusiastic, consisting of Business Information Systems study programs, Information Engineering, and Electrical Engineering which reached 135 participants with various forces.
