Exploring the Potential of AI on the STTS Campus

On Thursday, July 19 2024, an introductory event for the STTS Institute was held for grade 12 students. The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Ferdi who explained about the STTS Institute which is digital and artificial intelligence (AI) based. In his speech, Pak Ferdi emphasized that AI technologies such as ChatGPT and Gemini will continue to be used in the future. He also emphasized that if AI is used properly, this technology can make various jobs easier. Therefore, he invited students not only to use technology, but also to use it wisely.

Mr. Fredi from SMAK Dharma Mulya also gave a speech, expressing his support for ISTTS's initiative to introduce advanced technology to students. He hopes that this event will provide insights and inspiration for students to be better prepared to face future challenges.

Next, Ms. Yanti explained the programs offered by ISTTS. She highlighted that ISTTS has a range of study programs designed to prepare students for the competitive job market. Some ISTTS alumni have secured positions in major companies, both domestically and internationally. ISTTS also collaborates with various renowned companies that are ready to accept students for internships and employment. In addition, ISTTS offers various scholarships to help students achieve higher education. The Faculty of Engineering at ISTTS includes departments such as Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Professional Informatics Program, Business Information Systems (BIS), and D3 Information Systems. The Design Faculty covers Visual Communication Design (VCD), Professional VCD Program, and Product Design (Despro). ISTTS also offers international programs for students who wish to gain study experiences abroad.

During the Q&A session, Ms. Yanti explained why students should consider ISTTS. According to her, ISTTS has a network of major companies that start looking for talented students from the fifth semester. Although the number of ISTTS students is relatively small, the number of job openings is much larger, reflecting the confidence companies have in the quality of education at ISTTS.

The main event was presented by Mr. Lukman, who discussed AI technology. He introduced several of the latest innovations from the website radinx.com, such as the AI Radio Appocalip, AI Tutorial Aneh that can create tutorial videos linked to YouTube, AI Simple Maker that can create stories, AI Infinite Story that reads stories aloud, and AI that can create illustrated storybooks with sound. Mr. Lukman also announced a story-writing competition with attractive prizes for the five students with the most interesting stories, with title options like "Joko Man," "The Rabbit Eating Carrots Accompanied by a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," and "The Mystery of the Flying Island."

After lunch, students continued the event by visiting the exhibition stands of each department at ISTTS. This was an opportunity for them to get to know each department more closely and see the available facilities firsthand. Despite some issues such as a potentially malfunctioning website, the event still provided significant benefits and inspiration for the students.

The event also served as a platform for ISTTS to demonstrate their commitment to integrating advanced technology into their curriculum and learning environment. By utilizing AI technology, ISTTS aims to create an innovative and relevant educational ecosystem. Students are expected to see how technology can be used to develop their skills and knowledge, preparing them for future careers. The visit to the exhibition stands provided a tangible view of the various facilities and programs available at ISTTS, allowing students to make more informed decisions about their higher education.

Thus, ISTTS not only offers high-quality education but also provides real opportunities for students to develop themselves through technology and strong professional networks. Students are encouraged to actively participate and make the most of all available resources to achieve a brighter and successful future. ISTTS is ready to support them on this journey with the full backing of experienced faculty and state-of-the-art facilities.
